Bio
You don't need to be an artist to walk through Hayley Manson's studio door. You just need to be willing to play.
Hayley is a creative facilitator and process art practitioner with over fifteen years of facilitation experience and more than twenty years of professional studio immersion. Her work is rooted in a simple but quietly radical belief: that creativity belongs to all of us, and that the act of making something, without pressure, without judgement, without needing it to be good, is one of the most restorative things a human being can do.
Process art, the heart of Hayley's practice, is quite different from a traditional art class. The focus is not on what you create, but on how you create. Through carefully guided experiences with mixed media, paint, collage, clay, mark-making and experimental materials, participants are gently invited past the inner critic and into something more spacious: authentic expression, fresh perspective and the quiet joy of simply making.
Hayley came to this work through her own healing journey in the early 2000s, which led her into a deep personal creative practice with Aliki Romano at the ArtWell. She later trained and mentored under Lindy Solomon, refining her facilitation approach over years of sustained studio practice. That journey gave rise to Awakening Artistry, her studio work and a body of work that has extended into drug rehabilitation centres, NGOs and corporate creative development programmes.
What participants consistently find in her sessions is not just creative confidence, but something harder to name and perhaps more valuable: a slowing down, a softening, a renewed sense of what is possible when we give ourselves permission to simply explore.
Who This Is For
Anyone who has ever said "I'm not creative." Anyone who is tired, stuck, or simply in need of a different kind of thinking. No artistic experience necessary, or welcome.
What to Expect
Each session opens with an introduction to themes and materials, moves through guided creative exploration and closes with time for reflection. Whether you join for a single workshop or an eight-week immersive course, the invitation is always the same: to slow down, explore freely and see what emerges.
