Bio
In a world where looking has become perpetual but rarely deep, drawing offers something quietly revolutionary: the chance to truly see.
Rebecca Haysom's Drawing with Mindfulness practice is rooted in the belief that drawing is not a talent reserved for artists. It is an ancient, human act of attention, one that slows us down, brings us into the present moment and reconnects us with the part of ourselves that knows how to be curious without needing to be perfect.
Her workshops draw on art history, visual culture, poetry and literature, weaving together music, humour and play into a space that feels as much like a sanctuary as a studio. The invitation is not to make something beautiful. It is to notice, to explore and to remember what it feels like to be genuinely absorbed in the act of making.
Rebecca studied Fine Art and English Literature, and it was her own experience of losing touch with her studio practice, and the journey of finding her way back to it, that brought her to teaching. She is currently working toward a degree in Art Therapy, deepening her understanding of creativity as a genuine tool for mental health and personal resilience.
What she loves most is witnessing the moment someone reclaims their creative self. The loosening of fear. The rekindling of curiosity. The quiet confidence that follows when we discover we were never as uncreative as we thought.
