Overview

Tucked into the quiet folds of Hout Bay, Akasha Temple offers a deeply held space for those seeking connection, stillness and gentle transformation.

Nestled within a magical, established garden and embraced by an amphitheatre of mountains, the studio feels both intimate and expansive. There is a natural sense of being held here, where the rhythm of the trees and the openness of the sky invite a softening into presence.

At the heart of the space is a beautiful round wooden temple, a warm and grounding structure that naturally enhances acoustics. This makes it particularly well suited to sound healing, chanting and immersive auditory experiences, where resonance and tone can fully unfold and be felt.

The space is designed to accommodate both inward and shared experiences. It comfortably holds up to 15 guests lying down or 30 seated, making it ideal for yoga, breathwork, sound journeys and conscious movement practices. The environment lends itself equally to quiet, introspective sessions and gently guided group experiences.

Outdoors, a large fire pit area creates a natural gathering point. Surrounded by lawn and mature trees, it offers a grounding setting for evening circles, storytelling or integration under the stars. The studio is fully equipped to support music and sound based practices, allowing facilitators to create a rich and immersive sensory environment.

Eight soft mattresses are available on site, supporting comfort for longer sessions or resting practices. For those wishing to extend their stay, two quaint ensuite cabins offer simple, self catering accommodation within the same peaceful setting. The overall atmosphere remains intentionally understated, allowing the natural beauty of the space to lead.

Akasha Garden Studio is best suited to small, intentional gatherings. It is not wheelchair accessible, and its charm lies in its organic, slightly wild terrain. WiFi is available, though many find themselves naturally unplugging as they settle into the quiet.

This is a space that invites a return to what is essential. A place where facilitators can hold others with care, and where participants can arrive exactly as they are.
